Our Work and Calendar
November/December: The Administrative Committee invites all residents to submit candidates for the SBNC. Anyone with 10 supporting signatures may run for a seat. Our goal is to have at least two candidates for each of the two seats available in each of the five elementary school areas.
January: Elections for the SBNC will be held on January 14, 2009 at the Scarsdale middle School. Hours will be 7:00 am to 9:30 am and 2 pm to 9pm.
January-March: The SBNC solicits community input and nominates one candidate for each School Board vacancy.
May: A Village-wide vote on School Board candidates and the School Budget is held.
How Can You Help?
Become a SBNC Candidate: Becoming a Nominating Committee candidate is an important way of showing your commitment to our school system. Strong community involvement in the nominating process helps to ensure we get the highest quality of candidates for the School Board.
Become a Candidate for the Board of Education: Contact any SBNC member to be nominated for a vacancy on the Board.
Make a Financial Contribution to the SBNC: The election of members to the SBNC is financed by your contributions alone. The cost of preparing and mailing candidate information and running the election is over $4,000. Please consider a contribution of $50, but any amount would be appreciated to help us cover costs. We have no other source of funds. Please make your check payable to:
